Kayangan Lake is best-known as the cleanest lake in the Philippines is found in the Northern part of Coron Palawan. The lagoon can also be often called the “Blue Lagoon” mainly because of possessing the equivalent feature of the lake in the film with the same name.
Through Coron Travel Brochure - “Prepare to be mesmerized by its stately beauty and grace. The entrance itself is awe-inspiring, as is the view from the top. It has been hailed many times over as the cleanest fresh water lake in the country.” - With that uncomplicated details alone, it certainly bought my interest to pay a visit for it!
As I approached the entrance of Kayangan Lake, you will certainly take joy in some limestone walls together with interesting rock formations. Continuing to enter this tiny bay where one can certainly park the boats. After parking it, here comes the brief walk to the mountain! To reach Kayangan Lake a short walk in the mountain is a necessary, so be well prepared for a little work! But be alert in your walk, the stone is a bit difficult and a little unsafe.
As I hike to the mountain, the tour guide will ask traveler to make a tiny detour to see a cave. Surely you are not able to see anything at all but normally people will take advantage of the flash in there dslr camera to revealed the place but it’s vacant! But as I turned around and observe, there you will be stun by the tremendous view! Amazing! This is the the actual spot where the wonderful image of Coron Palawan was grabbed. Up there you can view the lagoon from you've parked the boat and where you came from.
The view what I have experience can be consider as 1 of the most ostentatious sights of mother nature that I have ever found, surely it was quite a sight. I have remained there quite long so i could try to take pleasure in the view, but for vacationers who check out the place in typical hours undoubtedly there will be some other group coming in and the area will get a bit populated to you and you’ll rapidly need to walk out. After it, there will be another set of stairways going down to get to the lake…
I highly recommend people to come early so you will likely have a lot longer time for swimming and relaxing in the lake. By the way, the lake was know to be a mix of salt together with fresh water, one thing I’m not sure is the salt is natural or came from the sweat….enjoy! Be sure to bring some Sun Protection and Insect Lotion, I recall there’s quite a lot bug flying around.
Coron Town Center normally should begin as early as 9 AM for every tourist but there is some boatman who is ready to start earlier, so bear in mind to ask! Going through the extra free time is a gain for me. Initially, I can visit more island and different beaches; 2nd, once I arrive early I can have more time to value the views and take some amazing photo; third I can enjoy the lake more. If you’re a fine swimmer, you might want to explore the lake corner to corner or you may go with the 2 available Bamboo Raft in the lake!
Travellers could comfortably remain here, for there are lots of Coron Hotels. But because of my shortage in time, I just didn't settle. But, I plan to visit it again. Ahead the lake is among the many sunken Japanese Submarine from World war ii called wreck dive, yet you will need a scuba gear as well as a pro license so you could look at it but I believe some spot offer snorkel, so traveller can also take delight in the corals and underwater life.
